Snakes are generally the easiest of the reptiles to look after. They require less space than lizards and some other reptiles, they have a relatively simple feeding schedule but still need care to be taken when monitoring and altering their living conditions such as temperature and humidity. The most favourite starter snake for children is the corn snake as they are quite small and slender. Thicker snakes such as pythons take a little more research and care. Most snakes feed on mice which can be bought at most pet stores. Snakes generally require fresh water several times a week and their feeding and bedding changed once a week but see individual species for more information.
